ആദ്യം അൽമരായി അറിയാത്തവർക് വേണ്ടി ഒന്ന് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്താം. 1977-ൽ   ഒരു ഐറിഷ്-അഗ്രോ ഫുഡ് കമ്പനിയും പ്രിൻസ് സുൽത്താൻ ബിൻ മുഹമ്മദ് ബിൻ സഊദ് അൽ കബീറും തമ്മിൽ തുടങ്ങിയതാണ് അൽമാരായി കമ്പനി. ഇന്ന് മിഡ്‌ഡിലെ ഈസ്റ്റിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ Vertically  integrated ഡയറി കമ്പനി ആണ് അൽമാരായി. സൗദിയുടെ തലസ്ഥാനമായ റിയാദിൽ നിന്നും 135km അകലെ അൽഖർജിലാണ് സ്ഥാപിതമായത്.ഇന്ന് ജിസിസി രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും ( ഖത്തർ ഒഴികെ ഉപരോധം കാരണം നിർത്തി വെച്ചു) വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന അൽമരായ് ഡയറി, Yougurt , Juices , Bakeries , Poultry …… അങ്ങനെ അറബികളുടെ നിത്യ ജീവിതവുമായി വളരെ ഇടപഴകി ജീവിക്കുന്നു.
അൽഖർജിൽ ഈ കമ്പനി വരാനുള്ള കാരണം മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല, അറേബ്യൻ പെനിസുലയിൽ ഭൂഗർഭ ജലം വളരെ കൂടുതൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു സ്ഥലമാണ് ഇവിടം. സഞ്ചാരികൾക്കു ഇവിടെ കാണാൻ 3500 വർഷങ്ങൾക് മുൻപ് ഉൽക്ക വീണുണ്ടായി എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്ന  നക്ഷത്ര കുളവും മറ്റു ഹീത് കേവ് എന്ന മറ്റൊരു കുളവുമൊക്കെയുള്ള സ്ഥലമാണ് അൽഖർജ്. പച്ചക്കറി കൃഷികളും  മറ്റു മസ്‌റകളുമായി അനുഗ്രഹീതമാക്കപ്പെട്ട മനോഹരമായ  സ്ഥലം കൂടി ആണ് ഇവിടം.
