ദുനിയാവിന്റെ  അറ്റം തേടി ആയിരുന്നു ഇത്തവണ യാത്ര. ലോകത്തിന്‍റെ അറ്റം (Edge of the world) എന്ന് വിളിപ്പേരുള്ള, തുവൈഖ് എന്ന കിഴുക്കാം തൂക്കായ മലഞ്ചെരിവ് ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി.

 ഇത് രണ്ടാം തവണ യാണ് Edge ഓഫ് ദി world എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സൗദിയിലെ ഗ്രാന്‍ഡ് canyon ല്‍ പോകുന്നത്. ഇത്തരം അറ്റങ്ങൾ  സൗദിയിൽ ഒരുപാടുണ്ട്. ഇരുപത്തി ഏഴു  ഫോർവീൽ വാഹനങ്ങളിലായി ,കുട്ടികളും,കുടുംബവുമായി യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടത് നൂറ്റിയമ്പത്  സഞ്ചാരികൾ… 
വാട്സപ്പ് വഴി കൃത്യമായ നിദേശങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായതു കൊണ്ട് കൃത്യ സമയത്തു തന്നെ മീറ്റ് പോയിന്റിൽ എല്ലാവരും ഹാജർ ആയിരുന്നു… സഞ്ചാരിയുടെ 12 ാം തേതും ഇത് വരെ നടന്നതിൽ വെച്ച് വലിയതും ആയിട്ടുള്ള വളരെ മനോഹരമായ യാത്ര ആയിരുന്നു.

 ഇത്തവണ പതിവിനു വിപരീതമായി അത്യാവശ്യം മീഡിയ കവറേജ് ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. Photographer തംബുരു സർന്റെയും യാസലാം യാസൗദി എന്ന ദര്‍ശന ടിവിയുടെ പ്രോഗ്രാംലും തകർത്തു അഭിനയിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണ് യാത്ര തുടങ്ങിയത്.

വടക്കന്‍ പ്രവിശ്യ ആയ ഖസീമില്‍ നിന്നും തുടങ്ങി, തെക്ക് empty quarter വരെ നീളത്തില്‍ സൗദി അറേബ്യയുടെ മധ്യത്തിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏകദേശം 800 കിലോമീറ്ററോളം നീളത്തില്‍ വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന മലഞ്ചെരിവ് (escarpment) ആണ് തുവൈഖ്. ഖഷ്മുല്‍ ഹയ്ഷിയ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്താണ് edge of the world എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ മുനമ്പ്‌ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ജബൽ ഫിറൈൻ എന്ന പേരിലും അറിയപ്പെടും. റിയാദിൽ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം മുപ്പതു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പിന്നിടുമ്പോള്‍ ജുബൈല എന്ന ചെറു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കുള്ള എക്സിറ്റ് എടുത്താണ് edge of the world ലേക്ക് പോവേണ്ടത്. അൽപ ദൂരം മുന്നോട്ട് പോയാൽ നമ്മൾ എത്തി ചേരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ്  വളരെയധികം ചരിത്ര പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള ഗ്രാമമാണ് ജുബൈല. ജുബൈലയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ വളരെ യാദൃച്ഛിക മായാണ് ഞാൻ ആ ബോർഡ് കണ്ടത്. മദീനയിൽ നിന്നും നജ്ദിൽ എത്തിയ ശേഷം വളരെ കാലമായി ഞാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലമായിരുന്നു ജുബൈല.

അതിനു മുൻപ് ഞാൻ ചെറിയ ഒരു കഥ പറയാം. ആ കഥ പതിനാലു നൂറ്റാണ്ട് മുമ്പ്  നമ്മൾ ഇപ്പോൾ നിക്കുന്ന  ഈ    നാട്ടിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്നതാണ്. പതിനാലു നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്കപ്പുറത്തു

ബദൽപ്രവാചക പ്രഖ്യാപനവുമായി ലോകത്തു അവതരിച്ച ഒരു കള്ളപ്രവാചകന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ.
 അവന്റെ അസ്ത്തമയത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രം.

റസൂലുല്ലാൻറെ കാലത്തുതനെ കള്ളപ്രവാചകത്തവുമായി വന്നയാളാണ് മുസൈലിമ.

ഈ മുസൈലിമ അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ പ്രവാചകൻ റസൂൽ (സ) ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കാലത്ത് റസൂലുല്ലാക്ക ഒരു കത്തെഴുതി.

ഒരു ലോകത്തെ പ്രതിനിധിയും പ്രവാചകനും താങ്കളാണ്.
മറുവിപാകത്തെ പ്രതിനിധിയും പ്രവാചകനും ഞാനാണ്.
മക്കയിൽ ജനിച്ചു മദീനയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന മുഹമ്മദെ (സ) നിങ്ങൾ അവിടുത്തെ പ്രവാചകനാണ്.
യമാമയിലെ പ്രവാചകൻ ഞാനാണ്!
യമാമായിലേക്ക ഒരു ദൂതനെയും പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണ്ട.
ഒരു പ്രബോധകരെയും ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വിടേണ്ട!
യമാമയിലെ പ്രവാചകനായി റബ്ബ് നിയോഗിച്ചത് എന്നെയാണ്!

ഈ കത്ത് തിരുനബി (സ) വായിച്ചിട്ട് തന്റെ കത്തെഴുത്തുകാരനെ വിളിച്ചിട്ട് മറുപടി എഴുതാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

ബിസ്മികൊണ്ടു തുടങ്ങുന്ന കത്തിന്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കം റസൂലുള്ള പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തു.

മുസൈലിമക്ക കാര്യകാരണങ്ങൾ കാണിചുകൊണ്ടു നബി (സ) കത്തയച്ചു.

ആ കത്തിന്റെ അവസാനം ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്.
യാ മുസൈലിമാ…
അന ഇബ്നുഅബ്‌ദുൽമുത്തൊലിബ്. ഞാൻ അബ്‌ദുൽമുത്തൊലിബിന്റെ മകനാണ്.

ഞാൻ സത്യപ്രവാചകനാണ്.

അൻത കദ്ധാബ്. നീ കള്ളപ്രവാചകനാണ്.

ഇത് പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് റസൂലുള്ള (സ) കത്ത് അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു.

ചുരുക്കി പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ചരിത്രതാളുകളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിവെച്ച ഒരു യുദ്ധമാണ് യമാമയുദ്ധം. അബൂബക്കർ സിദീഖ്(റ) കല്പന പ്രകാരം മുസൈലിമയെ വക വരുത്താൻ ഖാലിദിബ്‌നുവലീദ്(റ) നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മുപ്പതിനായിരം വരുന്ന പട്ടാളക്കാരുമായിട്ട് യമാമ യിൽ വെച്ച് മൂസയ്‌ലിമ യുമായി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്ത ഇസ്‌ലാമിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയതും ഒരുപാട്(1400 ഓളം ) സഹാബികൾ ശഹീദായിട്ടുള്ള മഖ്‌ബറ ശുഹദാ അൽ യമമയുടെ ബോർഡ് കണ്ടാണ് ഞാൻ വണ്ടി നിറുത്തിയത്. ജുമുഅ നിസ്കാര സമയം ആയതിനാൽ  തിരിച്ചു പോരുമ്പോൾ വരാമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവിടെ നിന്നും ജുമുഅ നിസ്കാര സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വണ്ടി തിരിച്ചു.

ജുബൈല പട്ടണം കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ നാമെത്തിച്ചെരുന്നത് ഒയയ്ന എന്ന വേറെയൊരു കൊച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിലാണ്. സലഫിസത്തിനു രൂപം കൊടുത്ത മുഹമ്മദ്‌ ഇബ്ന്‍ അബ്ദുല്‍ വഹഹാബിന്റെ ജന്മസ്ഥലം കൂടിയാണ് ഒയയന.

വേഗം പള്ളി ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി വണ്ടി വിട്ടു. റിയാദിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 80 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലം ഉള്ള ഒരുഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നു നമസ്കാരത്തിനു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത സ്ഥലം.. ഇവിടെ വെച്ചാണ് ജുമുഅ നിസ്കരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതിനടുത്താണ് നമ്മുടെ അവസാനത്തെ പെട്രോൾ സ്റ്റേഷൻ.( 24°54’27.1″N 46°18’38.8″E ) നമ്മളെ ധൈര്യത്തിന് ഒരു തവണ കൂടി ഫ്യൂവൽ ഫുൾ ആക്കി. ഇവിടം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പിന്നെ വിജനമായ മരുഭൂമി മാത്രമാണുള്ളത് …  സമയം 2:30 , അല്പം കൂടെ സദൂസ് റോഡിലൂടെ മുന്നോട് പോയാൽ നമുക്ക് തിരിയാനുള്ള സ്ഥലമെത്തി. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് അടയാളങ്ങളൊന്നുമില്ല. അറബിയിൽ എഴുതിയ ഒന്ന് രണ്ടു ബോർഡ് കാണാം.ആകെ ഉള്ളത് അല്പം അകലെ ആയിട്ട് ഒരു ഡാം ഉണ്ട് എന്നതതാണ്. അതിനടുത്ത ഒരു ഗേറ്റ് ഉണ്ട്. 3 മണിക്ക് ഗേറ്റ് അടക്കും. അതിനടുത്തു ഞങ്ങൾ വണ്ടി നിർത്തി.ഡ്രൈവർമാരെ വിളിച്ചു  ഓഫ് റോഡ് സഞ്ചാരികൾകു വേണ്ട വിലപ്പെട്ട നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങളും വണ്ടിയിൽ ഒന്നുമുതൽ ഇരുപത്തി ഏഴുവരെ ഉള്ള ടീമുകളുടെ സ്റ്റിക്കർ ഒട്ടിക്കലുമായി അൽപ നേരം.

വീണ്ടും യാത്ര തുടർന്നു വഴിയില്‍ വറ്റി വരണ്ട സുദുസ് ഡാം കാണാം. ഡാമിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് ഒരു ചെക്ക്‌പോസ്റ്റ്‌ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനു ചാരിയുള്ള വഴിയാണ് edge of the world ലേക്കുള്ള മണ്‍പാത ചെന്നെത്തുന്നത്.

 മൂന്നു മണിയോടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാനായി മരുഭൂമിക്ക് നടുക്കായി വളർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്ന അക്കോഷ്യ മരങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒത്തുകൂടി…
അവിടെ വെച്ചാണ് നമ്മുടെ ബിരിയാണി ചെമ്പിന്റെ ദമ്മ് പൊട്ടിക്കുന്നത്. വിശന്നു വിശന്നു എന്റെ കൂടെ ഉള്ളവർ എന്നെ തിന്നുമെന്ന അവസ്ഥ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്തായാലും റാശിയുടേയും സദഖതു ബായിയുടെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ചെമ്പ് പൊട്ടിച്ചു. കുറച്ചു നേരം വരി നിന്നാണെകിലും  വിശപ്പിന്റെ ആധിക്യം കൊണ്ടാണോ എന്തോ നല്ല സൂപ്പർ ബിരിയാണി കിട്ടി.പിന്നെ എല്ലാം വളരെ പെട്ടന്ന് ആയിരുന്നു.., വിശപ്പിന്റെ കാഠിന്യവും കൊണ്ട്, ആദ്യ രണ്ടു ചെമ്പുകൾ തീർന്നത് നിമിഷങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടാണ്…

ഭക്ഷണ ശേഷം അവിടെ മുഴുവൻ വൃത്തിയാക്കി, ഒരു വെയിസ്റ്റു പോലും ഇടാതെ എല്ലാവരും യഥാർത്ഥ സഞ്ചാരിയുടെ അന്തസത്ത കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ചു…

ഭക്ഷണത്തിനു ശേഷം ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ഫോട്ടോയും എടുത്തു പാപ്പന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ഷറഫുക്കന്റെ വെഡിങ്  അണിവേഴ്സറി ലഡ്ഡുവും അകത്താക്കി
ശേഷമുള്ള യാത്ര ആയിരുന്നു ശരിക്കും മായികലോകത്തേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര…

മനോഹരമായ അക്കേഷ്യ മരങ്ങളാണ് ചുറ്റും. ഒറ്റയും തെറ്റയുമായി നിൽക്കുന്ന അക്കേഷ്യ  വാലിയിലൂടെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ Rav4 കുതിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. മുന്നോട് പോകുംതോറും നമ്മെ കൺഫ്യൂഷൻ ആകുന്ന ഒരുപാട് വഴികൾ കാണാം. നിരപ്പായ മരുഭൂമി, വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ ഓടിയോടി ചക്രങ്ങള്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത പാടുകള്‍ അല്ലാതെ വേറെ ഒന്നും മുന്നില്‍ കാണുന്നില്ല. ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള റോഡുകള്‍ വേറെയും ഒരുപാടുണ്ട് താനും. ട്രാക്കുകൾ വിവേകത്തോടെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക. ചില സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ കല്ലുകൾ കൂട്ടി ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് കാണാം, അത് നമ്മുടെ വഴി കാട്ടിയാണ്. ഒരു വിധം എല്ലാ ട്രക്കുകളും ഒരേ ദിശയിൽ തന്നെ എത്തിച്ചേരും. രണ്ടു മൂന്ന് തോടുകൾ മുറിച്ചു കടന്നു വേണം മുന്നോട് പോവാൻ 4X4 ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാവും.
അക്കേഷ്യ മരങ്ങൾ ധാരാളമുള്ളതിനാൽ അവയുടെ മുൾ കയറി ടയർ പഞ്ചർ ആവുമെന്നൊരു പേടി ഉണ്ട് പുറത്തു പറഞ്ഞില്ല സ്റ്റെപ്പിനി ഉണ്ടാവും എന്ന ധൈര്യത്തിൽ റൗദത്തു ഹാസ്യ എന്ന ഈ വാലിയിലൂടെ യാത്ര തുടർന്നു.

നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്ക് മുൻപ് വേലിയിറങ്ങിപ്പോയ ഒരു കടലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പുകൾ…
കടൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്ന ഭാഗത്ത് രൂപംകൊണ്ട അഗാധഗർത്തം, സമുദ്രന്തര ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന പവിഴ പുറ്റുകളുടെയും, ചുണ്ണാമ്പ് കല്ലുകളുടെയും അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ… തിരകൾ പാറകളിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അതിമനോഹര കൊത്തുപണികൾ… അതൊക്കെ കണ്ടാൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ എപ്പോഴോ ആണ് കടൽ ഇറങ്ങി പോയത് എന്ന് തോന്നിക്കും…
വാഹനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി, ഒരു മുനമ്പിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റൊരു മുനമ്പിലേക്കുള നേർത്ത അതിർ വരമ്പിലൂടെ ഉള്ള സാഹസം നിറഞ്ഞ ട്രെക്കിങ്ങ്, മറക്കാനാവാത്ത അനുഭവം തന്നെയാണ്..

ഇതുപോലുള്ള പ്രദേശത്തേക്ക് യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഘടന പോലപ്പോഴും എന്നെ ചിന്തിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവിടുത്തെ മണ്ണിനു വ്യക്തമായി കാണാവുന്ന ധാരാളം തട്ടുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഈ തട്ടുകൾ എല്ലാം ഒരേ തരത്തിലുള്ള മണ്ണുതന്നെയാണ്. തട്ടുകൾക്കിടയിൽ ചിലപ്പോൾ ചെറിയ വിടവുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ചെളി ഒന്നിന് മുകളിൽ ഒന്നായി അടിഞ്ഞു കൂടി ഉണ്ടായതുപോലെ തന്നെയാണ്. എങ്ങനെ അത് സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നുള്ള ചോദ്യം എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്. നൂഹ് നബിയുടെ കാലത്തു നടന്ന പ്രളയം കാരണമാണ് ഇവിടം ഇങ്ങനെ എന്ന് ഇവിടത്തുകാർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

അല്പം അകലെയായി രണ്ടു വലിയ മൺതൂൺ കാണാം. അതിനു മുകളിൽ കുറച്ചുപേർ നിൽപ്പുമുണ്ട്. ഇപ്പോൾ മറിഞ്ഞു വീഴും എന്ന മട്ടിലാണ് ആ മൺതൂൺ നിൽക്കുന്നത്. അവർ എങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ മുകളിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നു എന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾ പരസ്പരം ചോദിച്ചു. അവസാനം ഞങ്ങൾ മൺഭിത്തിയുടെ അരികിലൂടെ അവിടേക്കുള്ള വഴി കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചു. ഒറ്റയാൾക്കു മാത്രം നടന്നു പോകാവുന്ന ഒരു വഴി.കാൽ ഒന്ന് വഴുതിയാൽ ജീവിതവും അതോടൊപ്പം സ്വപ്നങ്ങളും യാത്രകളും അവസാനിക്കും.

ഏകദേശം ദ്രവിച്ചു തീരാറായ മൺ തൂണിന്റെ മുകളിൽ ഒരു പരന്ന ഭാഗം. അപകടങ്ങൾ തടയാനായി സംരക്ഷണഭിത്തികളോ ഒന്നും തന്നെയില്ല. വളരെ അധികം പ്രദേശത്തു വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്ന ഈ എഡ്ജ് ഓഫ് ദി വേൾഡിന്റെ ഒരു ആകമാന വീക്ഷണം ഈ മൺതൂണിന്റെ മുകളിൽ നിന്നും ലഭിക്കുന്നു. മലമുകളിലെ മുനമ്പില്‍ കണ്ടതു അവര്‍ണനീയമായ ഒരു കാഴ്ച തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. താഴെ അഗാധമായ കൊക്ക. ഒരു കലാകാരന്‍റെ കാന്‍വാസില്‍ വരച്ചെടുത്ത ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ പോലെ, താഴെ മഴവെള്ളമൊലിച്ച ചാലുകള്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത ഇഴകള്‍! പ്രകൃതിയുടെ അനന്യമായ കരവിരുതില്‍ കൊത്തിയെടുത്ത വശ്യമാനോഹര കാഴ്ച!! അസ്തമയ സൂര്യന്റെ സുവര്‍ണ രശ്മികള്‍ തട്ടി വെട്ടിതിളങ്ങുന്ന താഴ്വരകളും, കിഴുക്കാംതൂക്കായ കുന്നുകളും!!

എടുത്തു പറയേണ്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ  അവിടെ വിദേശികളെ കൊണ്ട് ഒരു അടിപിടി ആയിരുന്നു. പെണ്ണിന് പകരം യാത്രയെ പ്രണയിച്ചവർ എന്ന് പറയുന്ന പലരും കോഴികളായതും, ദുനിയാവിന്റെ അറ്റത്തിരുന്ന് നജയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ പാട്ടുപാടി വിദേശികളെ വരെ ആകര്ഷിച്ചതും സാദാത് ഭായിയുടെ മില്കിവെയ് പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളും തംബുരു വിന്റെ യും മറ്റു ഒരുപാട് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫി സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെ ഫോട്ടോകളും ആയി  അങ്ങനെ അങ്ങനെ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു സന്ധ്യ.

അതിമനോഹരമായ സൂര്യാസ്തമയത്തിനു ശേഷം മനസ്സില്ലാ മനസ്സോടെ, അൽഖർജിലേക്കുള്ള മടക്ക യാത്ര..രാത്രി ഓഫ്റോഡിലൂടെയുള്ള യാത്ര അത്ര എളുപ്പമായിരുന്നില്ല. പോകേണ്ട പാത കണ്ടുപിടിക്കാൻ പലപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രയാസപ്പെട്ടു.

( 24°54’27.1″N 46°18’38.8″E )fill fuel full tank. take U turn and first right you will see ministry of agriculture dam — turn right side near to dam and go almost 25-30 km off road.
